Beth Daigle has been actively studying and pursuing creative endeavors since 2008. After attending SCAD to study 3D Graphics, a craft she applies daily in her professional life, she has always strived to achieve more in her creative life. Beth fosters her art like any relationship, taking time and attention every day to check in with her passion and ensure it is well-loved. Art is something she has improved upon year after year in a lifelong covenant, and she loves honing her craft in whatever way she can. Attending figure drawing sessions and painting En Plein Air are her preferred methods for flexing her creative muscle and her primary mediums of choice are oil, gouache, and charcoal.

artist’s statement

When searching for a subject, I look for places in the world that seem ordinary and make them significant. I thrive on making the mundane extraordinary.

I reimagine my subjects with a new perspective; surreal lighting effects and color choices that give the locations a theatrical quality. I’m fascinated by distilling real-world subjects to their most essential, incredible potential.

I depict the world around me through an altered lens. I want my work to be seen and evoke feelings of the supernatural, conjuring surreal images of an otherworldly nature. While the academic in me wants the work to be seen as eerie, the artist in me, my most authentic self can’t describe it any better than “haunted in a good way.” Perhaps you’ll feel the same.
